Lecture #10:
Engine Check: Monitoring your progress
by Darcy A. Santor

Five weeks into the new term.  It is starting to get busy, work is piling up, and the pressure is building.  It is a good time for an engine check — to make sure that you are doing everything that you need to do and keep it going.

In this lecture, you will complete some surveys that are designed to help you identify what is going well and what else you need to do. Research has shown that monitoring your progress is one of the most effective ways to ensure that you acquire and maintain any kind of new behaviour.

The surveys you will complete in this lecture assess a variety of study skills and coping strategies. You will be provided detailed feedback on over 50 markers of success and progress. In this lecture, we will also review the strategies that you have been learning about up to this point in the course.  This is an opportunity to reboot if you need to but also to take stock of your accomplishments to date.

Resources:  Please complete the worksheet and surveys before the next lecture.
